I’m not funny anymore ME
Do you think as your life situation changes you lose yourself? I’m thinking “yes”, I hardly ever laugh or think of funny silly things as I once did. I could make others and myself laugh by just using my imagination, which at present I’ve lost it somewhere, my imagination that is.
Why when your life is so full of taking care of others we forget to take care of ourselves! Could it be because Me whoever that is has left for parts unknown to survive the mental and physical toil? Where did ME go? I ask myself is ME having fun? Is ME doing things that make ME happy? How can I find out where ME really is.
Do you ever feel like ME is feeling bad for you or laughing at you because you have given up your ME?
Now you might think it sounds crazy to be talking to your ME (self) but isn’t that who you’ve always trusted your whole life to be honest with you? Well isn’t it?
To tell the truth in my case as a child my ME was not there, I grew up not knowing I had any worth and I believe when your Selfworth is not there you have no ME. Being abused and poor comes at a price to your ME and finding it takes years.
I think I found my ME when I was in my late 20’s and that was an awakening. Not everyone finds their ME for sure, I know my sister even in her 70’s has not found hers. I’m so sad for her..
When I found ME I had the power to change my life, to live happy and to laugh. I could see what needed to be done and I did it, I had hope for the future, ME is a blessing of strength and assurance that tomorrow will be even better no matter what happens today.
Why then at this time in my life has my ME fled me to maybe someplace safer, happier and more sunny?
What happens to us as we age and our burdens increase, do we split into different parts and our ME hides out until it’s safe to return? When will that be? I miss ME!

My Town is going down the drain
I’ve lived in my town for over 35 years and the reason I moved here was because it was a small farm town with lots of close knit families where my boys would have a chance to grow up safe, get a good education and have friends that lived here their whole life.
Well that certainly was the case, my boys went on to college, became successful have life long friends and stayed healthy and happy. As of today June 2023, this little town has expanded from 800 to nearly 2000 and yes that’s good for the financial welfare of the town I can’t say the same for some of the people who have moved in. We had no crime, it was safe to leave your doors unlocked so your children and their friends could come and go, today we keep them locked all the time. We have more crime, fast moving traffic and people coming from other liberal states wanting to change this bedroom community into what they left behind.
The rules are becoming ridiculous and the new residents are not friendly. The kids have little in manners and some are rude like their parents. The close knit community is gone, most of the folks who were here when I moved are either dead or moved away. Our kids have moved away, we don’t know very many folks anymore. When we get a new neighbor close to my home I try to visit with a welcome gift to let them know we care. So far batting 0, in todays world no one wants to know their neighbor or cares.
We have a house close by that I truly believe is possessed by bad mojo. It has been inhabited 4 times over my last 35 years and each resident who lives in that house is mean, hateful, and vindictive. When I moved here the old guy would mow his yard at10pm just when we tried to sleep. Other times he would have horses in the back yard which was ok but he would park his horse trailer in front of my driveway.
The next would have drunken parties loud and foul language late into the night. They used and abused the house and got evicted. Today we have the family who always has a snarl, wishes their dogs would get hit and killed, they never spend any time with those dogs. I bet they have never been to a vet because right now one is in poor shape and nothing is being done as far as we can see.
The dogs were fighting so my husband tried to separate them with water from the water hose the guy came running and snarling out to the fence accusing us of calling the police on him for beating his dogs! Well we told him we have never called the police and he just ranted on and on. We always let him know when his dogs would get out, the police used to come to our house when they would catch the dogs thinking they were ours but we would let them know the pay belong next door. We now know of at least one person that called the police on the and maybe others. This family is not nice to people let alone their dogs. Heck they’ve lived there for awhile and still haven’t fixed up the place. The youngest child used to come to the fence and talk to us now it is just like the rest of this family won’t even look our way only evil can be so mean to turn a child against people for no reason. When they moved in I took them a welcome basket. I have figured out welcome today means stay away.

Have you read the owners manual?
The Mini was only 23 ft long so it was like driving a larger van, no problem on the road or parking in a camp site. Now the draw backs are it was so small we were always climbing over each other, but you certainly learned how to pack everything into every nook and cranny, the bad thing was if you needed something you would have to unload every nook and cranny to find what you needed.
Decided on getting something bigger and ran into a great deal, someone was selling a 35 ft travel trailer along with a f250 to tow it, now this is scary driving all this vehicle on the highway with other people, ugh! Well I must have been a trucker in my other life because it wasn't to bad.. Yeah, that's what we all say until you drive on highways with nothing but potholes big enough to send you rolling on your side.. We were taking this monster on a long trip without realizing that we did not have all the parts hooked up to tow this 11,000 pound machine down the highways, we would hit a hole in the road and spend minutes trying to get straight again. You would get worn out just driving 50 miles on these roads. Finally we reached the state we were heading to only to get there late at night and get lost for hours even after stopping people to ask where the camp ground is.
Now the fun begins. And I will save this for my next post. Happy camping

A funny thing happened on the way to work!
Yep something in that truck was relieving it's self and I was getting it all. Ugh. I then thought to myself, as I closed the windows and sunroof, what the heck? I decided I already got hit by who knows what and there's nothing I can do about it now I just hoped it wasn't a pig. As soon as we had four lanes I pulled along side the truck and lucky for me it was loaded with cows.
You see I just convinced myself that cows eat grass so when they pee it is only used grass now if it were a pig it would have to be a lot more complex since they eat a little bit of everything. Wait, lets double check this to be certain.
Well I wanted to make sure before I gave the pigs a bad rap and sure enough the research says pigs are cleaner than cows. The only reason pigs appear to us as nasty and dirty is because their owners make them live in their own filt. Pigs would rather live in a cleaner enviornment. Well now it should have been pigs in that truck.
A good washing and it's all gone but next time let it be turkeys.

Our Wonderful Duke
It was so funny to see him, about 175 lbs of hair, feet and head with a big smile, or at least that is what it looked like to me. He always seemed to be smiling. Now his roommate before we all joined is a small palmaranian, mine are a setter type and a yorkie. Just imagine this gang running and playing. My yorkie loves to run the fence and yelp at everyone that goes by. The kids in the neighborhood were used to him and my setter running to the fence and they would bark back or laugh until one day when. Yep you guessed it, our beloved Duke came bouncing down to the fence and in his deep deep voice gave out a loud happy bark. The looks on the faces of those kids was priceless. They didn't laugh anymore but say "Oh S----" or something to that nature. They weren't expecting a gentle giant to come running toward the fence and greet them.
We have a neighbor who has triplets, she walks the babies in a stroller every day and one day I noticed they stop at our fence. They wait for all the dogs espcially our Duker to come bounding down to greet them. They would giggle and scream when Duke got there and everyone would laugh. They just loved to see him.
Now Duke wasn't raised with cats but no problem. He took to my cats like he always knew them. He usually ignored them and they did the same toward him, it was like they had an agreement. What a fantatic dog.
In his last few weeks he was in a lot of pain, he had cancer and it was spreading. He lost the use of his right rear leg, that made it so very difficult for him to get up and down or climb stairs. He struggled so much, he lost a lot of weight but he seemed to always put on a happy face. He seemed to smile a lot more. I never have seen a dog who just wanted to be happy and make you happy. He tried up until his last hours to be normal, to let you know how much he loved us. He was one of the most gentle, sweet dogs I have known. He has created a place in my heart and will always be with me. He will be missed so very much. My beautiful Duke. Pets are so wonderful it so sad that their lifespan seems so short yet in dog and cat years they are older than us. Maybe that is why he smiled so much he had insight and understanding what his humans needed.
